Program Goals

  • Awareness Raising – to create and increase awareness about GAIYA and volunteerism to mobilize interest and participation in community development.
  • Training – to provide community-relevant training to individuals and groups to facilitate volunteering services and activities.
  • Volunteer Recruitment and Placement – to recruit and deploy volunteers in the communities for development activities.

Objectives

  • To conduct 20 workshops and seminars about GAIYA activities and volunteerism by 2010
  • To disseminate IEC materials on GAIYA and volunteerism to 10 chiefdoms (Leaflets, Posters, megaphone and banners)
  • To provide training to 300 volunteers in volunteering skills by the end of 2010
  • To provide VMS training to at least 10 organisations/institutions by the end of 2010
  • To recruit and place 600 volunteers for Health, ICT,HIV and AIDS, Education and Agriculture by 2010
  • To recruit and deploy 200 volunteers by the end of 2008
